Fountainhead® Tanz Theatre
Fountainhead® Tanz Theatre is a production, performance and distribution unit, which was developed by Prof. Gayle McKinney Griffith and Prof. Donald Muldrow Griffith, both experienced artists from the U.S.A.
Fountainhead® engages people from various national, cultural, ethnic, socio-economic, religious backgrounds, and sexual identities, and works in a variety of artistic and cultural areas, with the goal of creating, experiencing and communicating intercultural exchange within its projects and to the world community at large.
Since its founding in 1980, Berlin/Germany, Fountainhead® has presented a variety of international, intercultural and interdisciplinary productions in the areas of dance, theatre, film festivals, television programming, film distribution, publications, seminars, exhibitions, workshops and musical presentations.
One of the productions is the annually presented Black International Cinema Berlin, which was founded by Fountainhead® in 1986 in Berlin/Germany and since then, has been produced on a regular basis in Berlin/Germany and other European and US-American cities.
Additionally, Fountainhead® produces and directs the weekly intercultural television magazine program THE COLLEGIUM – Forum & Television Program Berlin, broadcast every Sunday from 9-10 p.m. at the Open Channel Berlin, and furthermore televised in Magdeburg and Wolfsburg.
Fountainhead® Tanz Theatre ist eine Produktions-, Aufführ- und Distributions-Einheit, initiiert und entwickelt von Prof. Gayle McKinney Griffith und Prof. Donald Muldrow Griffith, beide erfahrene Künstler aus den USA.
Fountainhead® involviert Menschen mit unterschiedlichen nationalen, kulturellen, ethnischen, sozio-ökonomischen und religiösen Hintergründen sowie verschiedener sexueller Identitäten, die in verschiedenen künstlerischen und kulturellen Bereichen zusammen arbeiten, mit der Absicht, in den Projekten und für die Weltgemeinschaft den interkulturellen Austausch zu gestalten, zu erfahren und zu vermitteln.
Seit seiner Gründung 1980 in Berlin/Germany präsentierte Fountainhead® eine Reihe an internationalen, interkulturellen und interdisziplinären Produktionen in den Bereichen Tanz, Theater, Filmfestival, Fernsehprogramm, Filmdistribution, Publikationen, Seminare, Ausstellungen, Workshops und Musical Präsentationen.
Eine der Produktionen ist das jährlich präsentierte Black International Cinema Berlin, das Fountainhead® 1986 in Berlin/Germany gründete und seitdem regelmäßig in Berlin und darüber hinaus in anderen europäischen und US-amerikanischen Städten präsentiert.
Zudem produziert und leitet Fountainhead® das wöchentliche Fernsehmagazin THE COLLEGIUM – Forum & Television Program Berlin, das jeden Sonntag von 21-22 Uhr im Offenen Kanal Berlin ausgestrahlt und ebenfalls in Magdeburg und Wolfsburg gesendet wird.
Black International Cinema Berlin
Black International Cinema Berlin is a yearly interdisciplinary, intercultural film/video festival produced and directed by Fountainhead® Tanz Theatre / THE COLLEGIUM - Forum & Television Program Berlin in association with Cultural Zephyr e.V. and, screens cinema from the African Diaspora and other films from varied intercultural backgrounds or perspectives.
Black International Cinema Berlin originated from the Black Cultural Festival, which was produced and directed by Fountainhead® Tanz Theatre in 1986 for the first time in Europe, a 3-week event in Berlin, which presented the contributions of Black people to world culture through film, theater, dance, music, workshops and seminars, and was an homage to the legendary tap dancer, Carnell Lyons.
Since then, Fountainhead® Tanz Theatre produces and directs the Black International Cinema each year in Berlin and additionally, in other European and US-American cities.
The festival focuses on presenting works of an artistic, cultural or political nature coinciding with the general educational, social, artistic and economic interest of people from Africa, the African Diaspora and people with an interest in participating in intercultural communication and the resultant interfacing and sharing of educational, social, artistic and economic resources. Furthermore, Black International Cinema is open to ALL filmmakers and contributes to better understanding and increasing cooperation between people from various cultural, ethnic, national and religious backgrounds, in order to reduce prejudices and support a peaceful and respectful living together in our multi-faceted society.

Ebenso richtet sich das Festival an Menschen mit Interesse an interkultureller Kommunikation teilzunehmen sowie an dem daraus resultierenden Verbinden und Teilen von bildenden, sozialen, künstlerischen und ökonomischen Ressourcen. Black International Cinema ist offen für ALLE Filmemacher und leistet einen Beitrag zum besseren Verständnis und zur wachsenden Kooperation zwischen Menschen verschiedener kultureller, ethnischer, nationaler und religiöser Hintergründe, um Vorurteile abzubauen und ein friedliches und auf Respekt aufbauendes Zusammenleben in unserer vielgesichtigen Gesellschaft zu fördern.

THE COLLEGIUM – Forum & Television Program, a production of Fountainhead® Tanz Theatre, is an hour length intercultural, international and interdisciplinary television magazine program, presenting cinema, state of affairs and arts calendar. The goal of the telecast, is to provide a forum for persons of various national, cultural, ethnic, religious and socio-economic backgrounds, an opportunity to present their perspectives to a diverse and interested audience. THE COLLEGIUM – Forum & Television Program is a metaphor for the cultural diversity of Berlin, Europe and an international society, which seeks to support and enhance the dialogue between staff, guests and enables a conversation between the television program and audience, in order to provide a developing psychological, spiritual, intellectual, social, artistic and economic state of well being for our guests, staff members and the viewing public.
THE COLLEGIUM – Forum & Television Program provides "new faces" with an opportunity to become visible through the media, who might ordinarily be "unseen faces."
The television program is broadcast every Sunday from 9-10 p.m. at the Open Channel Berlin (Offener Kanal Berlin) and additionally presented in Magdeburg and Wolfsburg as well as shared with interested persons and Institutions in Europe, the U.S.A. and Africa.

THE COLLEGIUM – Forum & Television Program, eine Produktion des Fountainhead® Tanz Theatre, ist ein einstündiges interkulturelles, internationales und interdisziplinäres Fernsehmagazin, das Cinema, State of Affairs und Arts Calendar präsentiert. Das Ziel der Fernsehsendung ist es, Menschen unterschiedlicher nationaler, kultureller, ethnischer, religiöser und sozioökonomischer Hintergründe ein Forum zu geben, eine Gelegenheit, ihre Sichtweisen einem unterschiedlichen und interessierten Publikum zu präsentieren. THE COLLEGIUM – Forum & Television Program ist eine Metapher für die kulturelle Vielfalt der Berliner, europäischen und internationalen Gesellschaft, strebt danach, den Dialog zwischen den MitarbeiterInnen, TeilnehmerInnen zu fördern und zu verbessern, und ermöglicht eine Konversation zwischen dem Fernsehprogramm und den ZuschauerInnen, um für die Entwicklung eines psychologischen, spirituellen, intellektuellen, sozialen, künstlerischen und ökonomischen Wohlergehens zu sorgen für unsere Gäste, MitarbeiterInnen und unser Publikum.
THE COLLEGIUM – Forum & Television Program gibt "neuen Gesichtern" die Möglichkeit, durch das Medium sichtbar zu werden, die üblicherweise "ungesehene Gesichter" wären.
