Paul Zoller wurde in Innsbruck geboren. Nach einem Architekturstudium an der Hochschule der Bildenden Künste Wien, der University of Michigan und der Hochschule der Künste in Berlin arbeitete er zunächst als Architekt und nahm an zahlreichen Architekturwettbewerben und Ausstellungen teil. Als Assistent arbeitete er u. a. mit Heiner Goebbels, wooster group in New York, George Tabori und Achim Freyer. Anschließend an ein Bühnenbildstudium an der Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Wien bei Erich Wonder schuf er Ausstattungen für verschiedene Opern- und Theaterproduktionen, u. a. am Nationaltheater Weimar, Aalto-Theater Essen, Mainfrankentheater Würzburg, Opernhaus Dortmund, für die Münchner Musikbiennale und das Hebbeltheater Berlin. In der Spielzeit 2006/07 gestaltete er an der Komischen Oper Berlin das Bühnenbild zu LES CONTES
D’HOFFMANN in der Inszenierung von Thilo Reinhardt.
