Laura Weissenberger wurde 1995 in Facatativá, Kolumbien, geboren und wuchs in Wien auf. Sie studierte Bühnen- und Kostümbild an der Akademie für bildende Künste Wien bei Anna Viebrock und ein Semester Kostümbild an der Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp. Sie arbeitete als Hospitantin für Anna Viebrock und Johannes Leiacker und assistierte Daniela Kerck und Falko Herold. Ihr Debütfilm „Erde essen“ feierte 2021 auf dem Internationalen Filmfestival Rotterdam Premiere und wurde auf neun internationalen Festivals gezeigt. Seitdem arbeitet sie als freischaffende Filmemacherin, Stylistin und Kostüm/Set-designerin für Kurzfilme. Im Theater Bremen verantwortete sie in der Spielzeit 23/24 gemeinsam mit Anna-Sofie Lugmeier Kostüm und Video für Patty Kim Hamiltons „Schmerz Camp“.
