Der Schauspieler, Sänger und Musicaldarsteller Dirk Weiler studierte Musical an der Folkwang Universität der Künste in Essen und Gesang an der Manhattan School of Music in New York, dem City College of New York und dem Brooklyn College sowie Schauspiel im New Yorker Studio „Expressions” bei Bernice Loren. In Deutschland übernahm er viele Partien bei den Gandersheimer Domfestspielen wie beispielsweise Trofimow (Tschechow „Der Kirschgarten“). An der Oper Bonn war er als Herodes (Lloyd Webber „Jesus Christ Superstar“), am Theater Dortmund als Harald (Yazbek „The Full Monty“), in Gelsenkirchen als Njegus (Lehár „Die Lustige Witwe“) und Kapitän Ahab (Sijtsma/Ponsionen „Moby Dick“) zu erleben. Am Theater Magdeburg spielte er die Rolle des Bobby Child in Gershwins Musical „Crazy For You“, wofür er auch die Stepp-Choreografie entwarf. Außerdem übernahm Dirk Weiler die Partie des Roger DeBris in der spartenübergreifenden Produktion „The Producers“ von Mel Brooks und Thomas Meehan am Staatstheater Mainz. Bei den Freilichtspielen Schwäbisch Hall spielte er zuletzt Herr Orgon in Marivaux’ „Das Spiel von Liebe und Zufall“ sowie Jesus in Theobalts „Don Camillo und Peppone“. Er unterrichtet an diversen Hochschulen in Deutschland und den USA.
An der Deutschen Oper am Rhein übernimmt Dirk Weiler seit der Saison 2020/21 die Moderation von Wittenbrinks „Comedian Harmonists in Concert“.
