Die Regisseurin Marie-Ève Signeyrole arbeitete zunächst als Filmregisseurin und für das Schauspiel, ehe sie 2012 mit Janáceks DAS SCHLAUE FÜCHSLEIN ihre erste Operninszenierung auf die Bühne der Opéra Orchestre National de Montpellier brachte. Ihr Deutschland-Debüt erfolgte 2019 mit der Inszenierung von LA DAMNATION DE FAUST an der Staatsoper Hannover, die für den FAUST-Preis nominiert wurde. Daneben entwickelte und realisierte sie eigene Musikprojekte, wie das partizipative Stück LA SOUPE POP und das sinfonische Projekt BABY DOLL, das von sieben französischen Orchestern zum Beethoven-Jahr 2020 in Auftrag gegeben wurde und im September 2020 an der Deutschen Oper Berlin mit großem Erfolg seine Premiere feierte. Zuletzt inszenierte sie ROMÉO ET JULIETTE und BELZHAZZAR, beide am Theater an der Wien, die Uraufführung von Foccroulle’s CASSANDRA am La Monnaie, TURANDOT an der Semperoper Dresden, die Uraufführung von Chémiranis NÉGAR an der Deutschen Oper Berlin (Text: Marie-Eve Signeyrole und Sonia Hossein-Pour) und die Wiederaufnahme an der Opéra de Montpellier sowie Haydns L’INFEDELTÀ DELUSA an der Bayerischen Staatsoper.
