Sofia Elena Borsani, geboren in Genua, studierte Schauspiel an der Zürcher Hochschule der Künste und der Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Rostock. Während ihres Masterstudiums war sie am Schauspielhaus Zürich engagiert wo sie mit Lily Sikes, Barbara Weber, Bram Jansen, Jan Bosse und Herbert Fritsch arbeitete. Mit Stefan Puchers Inszenierung „Ein Volksfeind“ war sie am Berliner Theatertreffen eingeladen. Ab 2016 war sie am Luzerner Theater engagiert wo sie u. a. mit Nina Mattenklotz, Sylvia Sobottka, Julia Wissert, Victor Bodo, Ene-Liis Semper und Tiit Ojasoo zusammen arbeitete. Seit 2019 arbeitet sie als freischaffende Schauspielerin und Sprecherin. Zudem unterrichtet sie als Gastdozentin im Bachelor und Master Theater an der Zürcher Hochschule der Künste. Borsani ist Förderpreisträgerin der Armin Ziegler-Stiftung. Mit dem Kurzfilm „Über Wasser” (Jela Hasler) war sie 2021 an den Filmfestspielen in Cannes eingeladen.
