Im September 2020 gibt Antonia Ahyoung Kim ihr Debüt an der Deutschen Oper Berlin als Ortlinde in Wagners DIE WALKÜRE und wird ab Dezember 2021 als Stipendiatin des Förderkreises der Deutschen Oper Berlin unser Ensemble bereichern. 2019 war die Sopranistin erstmals an der Hochschule für Musik Theater und Medien Hannover in einer szenischen Produktion von Strauss’ ARIADNE AUF NAXOS als Ariadne zu erleben.
Antonia Ahyoung Kim wurde 1991 in Süd Korea geboren. Von 2010 bis 2014 studierte sie Gesang an der Yonsei Universität in Seoul, Korea, von 2015 bis 2018 ergänzte sie ihre Ausbildung (Master of Music Operngesang) bei Marek Rzepka an der Hochschule für Musik Theater und Medien Hannover und studiert dort seither „Soloklasse“.
2019 wurde Antonia Ahyoung Kim mit zahlreichen Preisen ausgezeichnet: dem Ersten Preis des 20. Maritim Musikpreis 2019; Sonderpreis Concorso Internazionale per Cantanti Lirico Citta di Alcamo; Erster Preis sowie Orchester-Preis International Gesangswettbewerb Immling; Daegu International Opera Award in Süd-Korea, Zweiter Preis, Debut Prize der Deutschen Oper Berlin, sowie dem Debut Prize des Daegu Opera House. 2017 wurde sie bei der Pustina International Vocal Competition mit dem Dritten Preis ausgezeichnet und ersang sich den Ersten Preis des V. Miedzynarodowy Konkurs Wokalny im. Jana Kiepury in Polen.
2017 wirkte Antonia Ahyoung Kim im Gewandhaus Leipzig in einem Akademischen Konzert mit, wo sie sich mit der Arie der Agathe aus Webers DER FREISCHÜTZ vorstellte. Bühnenerfahrungen sammelte die Sopranistin als Violetta aus Verdis LA TRAVIATA an der Kammeroper Halle. In Produktionen der Hochschule für Musik Theater und Medien Hannover sang sie auch Fiordiligi aus Mozarts COSÌ FAN TUTTE, Ausschnitte als Marschallin in Strauss‘ DER ROSENKAVALIER und 1. Dame in Mozarts DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE sowie Baronin in Offenbachs PARISER LEBEN.
Ihr Opernrepertoire umfaßt Fiordiligi in Mozarts COSÌ FAN TUTTE, Erste Dame in Mozarts DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE, Mimì in Puccinis LA BOHÈME, Liu in Puccinis TURANDOT, Violetta in Verdis LA TRAVIATA, Ariadne in Strauss‘ ARIADNE AUF NAXOS, Rosalinde in Strauß’ DIE FLEDERMAUS und Agathe in Webers DER FREISCHÜTZ.
