Der junge rumänische Bass Andrei Nicoara studierte an der renommierten Musikhochschule Gheorghe Dima in Cluj-Napoca und wurde nach seinem Abschluss 2017 in die Transsylvanische Opernakademie TOA aufgenommen. Er gewann 2017 den dritten Preis im internationalen rumänischen Gesangswettbewerb „Hariclea Darclee“, 2018 den ersten Preis der Hong Kong International Vocal Open Competition, sowie 2019 drei Preise beo, internationalen Gesangswettbewerb „Ópera de Tenerife". Zu seinen bisherigen Rollen gehören Reinmar von Zweter in Richard Wagners „Tannhäuser“ und Don Basilio in „Il barbiere di Siviglia“ von Gioacchino Rossini. 2018/19 wurde Andrei Nicoara Mitglied des Opernstudios der Deutschen Oper am Rhein, wo er seither als Sciarrone (Puccini „Tosca“), Sarastro in der „Zauberflöte für Kinder“ (nach Mozart), Lakai (Strauss „Ariadne auf Naxos“), Flandrischer Deputierter (Verdi „Don Carlo“) und Namurow (Tschaikowsky „Pique Dame“) und Marchese d'Obigny (Verdi „La traviata“) zu erleben war.
In der Saison 2020/21 Andrei Nicoara an der Deutschen Oper am Rhein u.a. als Bass (Blacher „Romeo und Julia“) zu erleben. Ein Engagement als Raimondo in „Lucia di Lammermoor“ (Donizetti) am Teatro Colon in Argentinien konnte aufgrund der Corona-Pandemie nicht stattfinden.
