Der britische Dirigent Paul McCreesh ist einer der erfahrensten Dirigenten auf dem Gebiet der Alten Musik und genießt einen hervorragenden internationalen Ruf durch seine innovativen Aufführungen in Konzertsälen und Opernhäusern. Zusammen mit den Gabrieli Consort & Players, die er 1982 gegründet hat, ist Paul McCreesh in den größten Konzertsälen und bei Festivals aufgetreten. Außerdem hat er ein großes CD-Repertoire eingespielt.
Paul McCreesh arbeitet seit einiger Zeit auch regelmäßig mit Orchestern mit modernem Instrumentarium und hat einige sehr erfolgreiche Debüts in ganz Europa und den USA gemacht, so z.B. mit dem DSO Berlin, der Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie, dem l’Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, dem San Francisco Symphony und dem Minnesota Orchestra. An der Welsh National Opera inszeniert er Händels Jephta.
An der Komischen Oper Berlin dirigiert Paul McCreesh in der Spielzeit 2005/06 die Vorstellungen von Alcina und das 5. Sinfoniekonzert.

The British conductor Paul McCreesh is one of the most experienced conductors in the field of Old Music and enjoys an excellent international reputation due to his innovative performances in concert halls an opera houses. Together with the Gabrieli Consort & Players, which he has founded in 1982, Paul McCreesh has appeared in the greatest concert halls and at festivals. Additionally he has recorded a great CD-repertory.
Since some time Paul McCreesh works as well with Orchstras with modern instruments and made several very successful debuts all over Europe and the United States, for example with the DSO Berlin, the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie, the l’Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra and the Minnesota Orchestra. In the beginning of the last year he has returned to the Welsh National Opera for a new production of Händel' s Jephta. In the season 2005/2006 Paul McCreesh' is conducting Alcina and the 5th Symphony Concert at the Komische Oper Berlin.
