An der Komischen Oper Berlin, zu deren Ensemble er seit der Spielzeit 2002/03 gehört, übernahm er u. a. die Rolle des Figaro in Der Barbier von Sevilla, des Pantalone in Die Liebe zu drei Orangen, des Dr. Falke in Die Fledermaus, des Ned Keene in Peter Grimes, des Schwarzen Ministers in Le Grand Macabre und des Papageno in Die Zauberflöte. In der Spielzeit 2004/05 singt er weiterhin den Edwin in Die Csárdásfürstin, den Figaro in Der Barbier von Sevilla, den Pantalone in Die Liebe zu drei Orangen und den Sid in der Neuproduktion von Albert Herring.

The Finnish bariton grew up in Helsinki and studied at the State University of Music in Karlsruhe under the guidance of Roland Hermann. He is award-winner of several singing competitions of his home country in Lappeenranta and as well of the International Competition Hugo Wolf Academy in Stuttgart. Beside a busy concert activity with the pianist Kanako Nakagawa he worked with the Cologne and the Turku Symphony Orchestras and made guest appearances amongst others at the festivals in Savolinna and Helsinki.
Since the 2002/03 season he is part of the ensemble of the Komische Oper Berlin. Here he has played the role of Figaro in The Barber of Seville, of Pantalone in The Love of Three Oranges, of Dr. Falke in The Bat, Ned Keene in Peter Grimes, of the Black Minister in Le Grand Macabre and Papageno in The Magic Flute. Furthermore he sings in the 2004/05 season Edwin in The Gipsy Princess, Figaro in The Barber of Seville, Pantalone in The Love of Three Oranges and Sid in the new production Albert Herring.
