Geboren 1984. Simon Stone ist ein junger Regisseur aus Sydney. Er adaptiert für die von ihm gegründete Theaterkompanie The Haylord Project klassische Dramentexte wie Wedekinds »Frühlings Erwachen«, Tschechows »Platonow« oder Senecas »Thyestes«. Als Hausregisseur am Belvoir Theatre in Sydney realisiert er unter anderem Brechts »Baal« und Ibsens »The Wild Duck«, mit der er 2012 auf dem Ibsen-Festival in Oslo und 2013 bei den Wiener Festwochen gastiert. Beim Holland-Festival erhält er 2013 für diese Inszenierung den Publikumspreis. Seine erste Regiearbeit in Deutschland ist »Die Orestie« nach Aischylos am Theater Oberhausen, die 2014 für den Deutschen Theaterpreis DER FAUST nominiert wird.
In der Spielzeit 2015/16 wird Simon Stone seine Vision von Ibsens »Peer Gynt« auf die große Bühne des SchauSpielHauses bringen.
