Kampnagel presents a preview of CRACKLING OF TIME, the documentary film about the ‘Africa Festival Theatre’ project by director Christoph Schlingensief, who spent the last years of his life travelling to and from Africa. His destination was an African Bayreuth, an opera village in Burkina Faso, a place that unites life and art. The almost impossible project ran from May 2009 to October 2011. In this documentary film, director Sibylle Dahrendorf accompanies the artist, film and theatre director, author, performance artist and talk show host Christoph Schlingensief, who died in August 2010 following his battle with cancer, and helps us to understand his vision and the fight for his dream. Following the preview there will be a discussion with the director, Dahrendorf, Schlingensief’s travel companion Aino Laberenz and the architect Francis Kéré, chaired by Amelie Deuflhard.
