»All I’m interested in is ›rubbish‹: only what has no useful meaning; I’m interested in life only in its meaningless manifestations,« claimed the Russian avant-garde writer Daniil Kharms (1905–1942). And the world seems to have appeared similarly absurd to the French farce writers Georges Courteline (1858–1929) and Pierre Henri Cami (1884–1958). Over thirty scenes and improvisations based on short prose texts by these authors make up a panorama of the most varied incidents in which the director Andrea Breth lets ten performers loose on each other in almost ninety roles at the Vienna Burgtheater.
