Laurent Chétouane is returning to Hamburg. With his scaled down and precise works, Chétouane, a Frenchman by birth, ensured that the whole of Germany was entertained while working under Tom Stromberg at the Schauspielhaus. After TANSTÜCK # 1: BILDBESCHREIBUNG VON HEINER MüLLER (DANCE PIECE # 1: DESCRIPTION OF IMAGES BY HEINER MÜLLER), Chétouane and 3 dancers now examine the „Rubbing against each other“ of the text and the body, based on the second act of Faust 2: a theatre evening of extraordinary closeness and intensity. Situations and images emerge, disappear and metamorphosise according to Artaud’s idea of „equality“. The text from Faust 2 works like a thinking machine that continually delivers new material for the reader and the performer: an extraordinary poetic theatre trip, a performance, about which the Theatre Magazine in Die Zeit wrote, „In its intensity and concentration (...) it is like a diamond which retains an enormous energy, even in the smallest room“
