Synopsis

Its the summer of 1987 and a young family from the Leipzig district in East Germany are going on holiday, driving with their Trabant and trailer to a small holiday home on the Baltic Sea near the border to West Germany. This part autobiography, animated documentry follows the family as they begin their journey and gives us an insight into the unusual reality and day to day normalities of holidaying in East Germany (GDR) so close to the border.
Personal memories and factual evidence come together to create an illustrated travel journal.
