Synopsis

THE ZONE is an austerely visual film that throws a nerve-racking and revealing light on a typically Dutch phenomenon, de afwerkplek, roughly translatable as 'come place'. The camera, often filming from behind the windscreen of a car, shows the isolated outdoor locations where prostitutes gratify their clients from the man's standpoint. The statements from interviews give a humiliating picture from the prostitutes' point of view.
