Synopsis
Brigitte Rouan's Post coitum, animal triste -which debuted as closing film in Un Certain Regard at Cannes this year and in which the director also stars - tells the story of 40-year-old Diane Clovier who, on the surface, seems to have it all: a good job, a perfect husband and wonderful children. Until, that is, she falls in love at first sight with Emilio, who is not only passing through Paris but is also 20 years younger than her.Rushing headlong down the dangerous road of 'amour fou', Diane sincerely believes the second half of her life is about to begin. She is wrong, however. Emilio leaves and she loses everything: lover, husband, children and her health. Only through a new relationship with a young novelist does she come to terms with the events in her life.
