This habitat for countless animal and plant species is in grave danger. We need the forests, as they provide us with valuable raw minerals, stores water, and ensures a good climate. In recent years, drought and heat have been hurting the trees, pests have been multiplying, and illegal logging has been filling the pockets of criminal organizations. Even state-subsidized clear-cutting increases the profits of the deforestation industry. For these reasons, more and more people are fighting for their forests. In our series, we follow passionate individuals that are doing everything in their power to preserve their forests.
