Fat Front
Synopsis
“I'm fat and I don’t give a damn!” That cry, amid a snowy landscape, opens this cinematic manifesto. “Fat Front” is a fast-paced, colourful, and enjoyable plea for more body positivity. Its heroines, Marte, Helene, Pauline, and Wilde are fat. They’ve tried every diet in the book to reduce their corpulence, in vain. But now they choose not to be ashamed of their fierce curves anymore, but instead to draw self-confidence from them. As body activists, they are fighting against the dominant culture of thinness. And along the way, they discover they are not alone … “With courage, commitment, and persuasiveness, they take us along the path to more body acceptance. And they are so likeable that we really want to have them as BFFs. The film is rousing without being loud, it stirs us to think, and is a shining example for all of us” (The Curvy magazine).Nordic Film Days Talks: Click here for a director's voice of Louise Detlefsen & Louise Unmack Kjeldsen, the directors of "Fat Front".
