Charter
Synopsis
Alice moves from the countryside to Stockholm for her job, while her two children stay behind with her husband. When Alice learns that he wants sole custody, she returns, believing that Vincent and Elina are unhappy at their father’s. On the spur of the moment, Alice books a charter flight to Tenerife for herself and her children, whisking the siblings away from the snowy North to a Canary Island summer ... Ane Dahl Torp is perfectly cast in the role of a mother overwhelmed by the conflict between motherly love and autonomy. Amanda Kernell says, “It’s a personal story, as are all my films. I come from a family with generations of divorced parents actually. Now I’ve been thinking about this for many years and I wanted to make a movie that is a love letter, a declaration of love to divorced parents.”Nordic Film Days Talks: Click here for an interview with Amanda Kernell, the director of "Charter".
