Since 1995, CTB has been a leader in theatrical and video distribution in Russia with hit releases of their live action films 'Merry Xmas Surgery', 'Brother', 'Don't Cry Mommy', 'The Peculiarities Of National Fishing', 'Check Point', 'Brother 2', 'Sisters', 'War', 'Tycoon: A New Russian', 'The Cuckoo', 'Bimmer', 'Dead Man's Bluff', as well as the animated feature films 'Little Longnose' and 'Alosha', produced with their partner Melnitsa Animation.
Other CTB Film productions including 'Not Yet A Time For Sorrow', 'Brother', 'Of Freaks And Men', 'Check Point', 'Trofim', 'Scarecrow', 'Sisters', 'Two Drivers', 'The Tale Of Fedot The Soldier', 'War', 'The Cuckoo', 'Schizo', 'Bipedalizm', have appeared in numerous Russian and international film festivals and have won more than eighty awards and prizes. In 2004, the crew of CTB's production of 'The Cuckoo' was awarded the country's highest honor, The State Premium of Russia.
Industry experts recognize CTB as one of Russia's strongest producers of motion pictures. In 2002, The CTB Film Company received the film industry's award 'Blockbuster' as the 'Highest Grossing Russian Film Studio of the Year'.
The CTB Film Company works together with many of Russia's most famous directors including Alexei Balabanov, Alexander Rogozhkin, Sergei Bodrov, Sr., Pavel Lungin, Sergei Ovcharov, Maxim Pezhemsky, Filipp Yankovsky and Yevgeny Yufit.
The CTB Film Company has also taken part in the debut feature films of many of Russia's next generation of directors including Pyotr Buslov, Alexander Kott, Valery Rozhnov, and Pyotr Tochilin.
CTB was proud to have worked with actor and director Sergei Bodrov, Jr. until his tragic death in the Karmadon Canyon in September of 2002.
The director of the CTB Film Company is screenwriter, film director, and producer Sergei Selyanov, Mr. Selyanov is a member of the Cinematography Union and Vice President of the Producer's Guild of Russia.
